teaching practice

I have taught grade 1 for 10 years. Each year was a new learning experience to me and the children. The bulletin boards were different. The methodology kept improving. Now after the first session I have more consciously looking into the content and context of the topic.

  1. Bhagya, great to see your blog! Hey, we would like to know more about your ten years of experience! Don't worry about language and expression - just let go and tell us about one or two incidents that made you change your methodology. Maybe you want to tell us about some bulletin boards that you remember because they were so different!

Will wait for mor from you!

  4. Thanks Dharma and Tara!
One thing I really learnt to teach, is science in Grade 01. After teaching Science in high school for 2 years, from Grade 7 -12, biology and chemistry, doing B.Ed., in the same subject, getting down to the kids was so difficult. I used to tell my co teacher, what I had planned to teach for a particular topic. She used to tell me think of the kids, who are 7+,their understanding levels and how you can make a lesson interesting. Then I redid the lesson planning, planed hands on activities by the end of the year I was so happy to see children understand and love science.
Bulletin boards - I have learnt so much from my co teacher. Being a creative person and an eye to colour and perspective, I have picked up to do the bulletin boards, that are attractive, catchy titles, pleasant to the eye and as a taching and a learning tool.

  5. Bhagya I must say that you have a lot of responsibility since nurturing and shaping the young minds is a tough job. It requires a lot of patience and commitment. I would love to know like Mrs. Kini a few of your noteworthy experiences in these 10 years. Cheers to your spirit !!!!!!!
